Art for Relaxation Workshops for Retirement Villages, Care Homes & Day Care Centres
Are you an activities organiser for a Care Home or Retirement Home/Village and looking for new, creative and engaging activities for your residents? Then take a look at my mobile art for relaxation watercolour workshop...
I have a very flexible approach and can tailor the sessions to your requirements. Providing all necessary materials and run the session for you, working with small groups and one to one, as required.
No artistic talent is required as I provide artwork drawings or assist in the drawing of images and will sit with individuals as they paint.
Painting is very rewarding and therapeutic pastime, residents will produce a painted picture which has been created by themselves, and very often end up being presented proudly as gifts to family and friends.
Residents will produce art work which at an extra cost can be applied to a range of gift items including: set of 6 note cards and envelopes, coasters, cushions and tea towels, these products can also be purchased as wholesale multiples so that your establishment can sell them at your own fund raising events!
Gift Items to include artwork from your workshops: Cushions - notecards - tea towel - coasters
There are lots of research articles outlining the many benefits of art based therapy for elderly and dementia/Alzheimer’s sufferers. Workshops can be tailored to suit the needs and ability of your residents. Family members are also welcome to attend the painting workshops.
I will fit your sessions in around the timetables within the care establishment, 2 hours usually work – i.e. between breakfast & lunch etc. Either am, pm or full day sessions to suit. Working with small groups of up to 6 people.
With a degree in Surface Pattern Design and Fine Art, I have experience within textile design industry for a number of years, and have art work licensed on kitchen textiles and ceramics. I have a real passion for watercolours and really enjoy sharing my experience with workshop participants. Experience of care work and also I am currently working as a volunteer artist in a hospice. A current DBS certificate and public liability insurance held.
